Color Words Pocket Chart Center

Are color words part of your kindergarten curriculum? We teach color words in kindergarten here in Missouri! Students learn how to read them, write them, and use them in their daily activities. I created this color words pocket chart activity to help reinforce color words with kinders. Kindergarten students love using pocket charts, so this was an activity that I knew would keep them engaged.

The activity is simple to prep, and easy for young learners to complete independently! Students build each color word in a pocket chart while matching it to the correct color paint bucket. They then complete one of the independent practice printables, which has them cut and glue color words together. Simple as that!

I always print my pocket chart materials on tagboard, which ensures they are durable enough for little hands!

AT BAT Word Family Craft

Are you looking for a simple craft to tie into your teaching during the month of October? This AT BAT craft is simple, fall related, and will give your kiddos the chance to practice word family words from the word family AT. Students put together the bat as shown below, and then glue the AT words to the front. You can also have the kiddos write the words in the boxes if you prefer. Your kids will love creating their bats, and you can display them in your classroom by hanging them from the ceiling or creating a bulletin board. If you would like the template for these AT BATS, it is available in my TPT shop here.

40 Sight Word Highlight Printables

Are you looking for a simple activity for your kiddos to use to practice their sight words? I created this set of sight word highlight printables to use during our sight word of the week routine. The kiddos color the sight word, and then highlight the sight word as they find it. This set comes with 40 sight words, the dolch pre-primer word list. I will use these printables as one of my morning work activities. It is simple and can be completed independently while I complete my morning responsibilities. These printables could also be placed in a literacy center, or at home during homeschooling! If you would like this set of sight word highlight printables, click here to get them!
